ROECK ARCHITECTS

Level 3 of the old building is used for administration and the doctors and staff on duty  Chain Bridge sanatorium  newly expanded. In order to avoid waiting times in the sanatorium, a new elevator will also be installed. The central design idea of the architects in Innsbruck is to extend the originally very narrow corridor area to include the sloping roof construction. These areas are accompanied by benches and serve as waiting and communication areas in the Kettenbrücke sanatorium. Lights are integrated into these benches, which additionally illuminate the sloping surfaces. In order to optically enlarge the formerly small rooms, the dividing walls were demolished and replaced by wall units with glass skylights. At the intersection of the corridor areas, patient billing and a meeting room are opened to the corridor through glass walls. These two "semi-public areas" are connected by a wall cladding, through which a viewing window allows a glimpse of the house chapel. The new lift is in front of the façade, with the shaft merging into a light steel and glass construction on the upper floors, which subsequently allows a wonderful view of Innsbruck.
