6020 INNSBRUCK

ROECK ARCHITECTS

The Ginkgo café in the Innsbruck Kettenbrücke sanatorium was to be expanded to include a patient and staff restaurant. The restaurant offers inpatients the opportunity to have lunch outside of their room. For larger events, the room divider to the staff restaurant can be removed - this creates the largest room in the Kettenbrücke sanatorium. The existing building was carefully used in the design, the existing floors were sanded down, the casement windows were restored, and benches and tables were installed sparingly in black and white. Fixed fixtures were made of oak to match the floor in the Kettenbrücke sanatorium.
