ROECK ARCHITECTS

On the grounds of the Innsbruck Chain Bridge Sanatorium of the Sisters of Mercy, north of the existing bed wing, the new radiology building is being built above the service access road. The building is accessed on the ground floor via the existing entrance hall. For this access, the current farewell room has to be moved to the planned new building. The medical secretariat and the necessary technical rooms are also located on the ground floor. The existing service access road is covered with the upper floor, which hides the delivery and disposal activities both optically and acoustically. On the upper floor, in addition to the reception and waiting area for outpatients, there are the examination rooms with MRT and CT including the necessary ancillary rooms. The connection for inpatients is made directly via the adjacent elevators. The waiting area is glazed towards the Inn and decorated with a work of art by Heinz Gappmayr. The façade was designed in a natural anodised post and beam construction in accordance with the construction phases that have already been completed, the closed components were designed in fair-faced concrete.
